Saturday we visited the Hickory Stick Bookstore in
Washington Depot to meet Bill
Eppridge, author and
photographer. He is best known for this
photograph of Robert Kennedy taken as he lay mortally
wounded in June 1968 . We
purchased Bil's book,
"A Time it Was" and had a short
chat with him. A lovely man who has taken many powerful photos throughout his career. And it turns out he lives right here in New Milford.
From there we went to the River Bistro to watch the 140
th running of The Belmont Stakes. While it would have been great to see the Triple Crown won for the first time in 30 years, it was not to be. Big Brown came in last. So we look forward to The Kentucky Derby in 2009 and perhaps another contender for the coveted title. Made us
antsy for our trip to the races at
Saratoga in August!

We're getting ready for our trip tomorrow to visit Kate and Chris in Maryville. Another fun adventure.
