Jon and Jess were back from New Jersey on Saturday and we started the day with a great breakfast at the Blue Dolphin Diner before heading for to course. It was a warm, breezy and very sunny day - perfect for golf. Sadly, it was not so perfect a sunny day for Jess, who had forgotten to apply the spf-30 ... luckily aloe vera was on a 2-for-1 sale at CVS.
Saturday's rounds didn't disappoint at all and it proved to be a really exciting day as the gaps between the players widened and many players started to show some weariness. Putts were missed and chips were flubbed - just like when we mortals play!
When the golfers had all completed their rounds we moved ourselves down the road to dinner and Margarita's at The California Grill. From there a short hop to see the B-Mets vs. the Akron Aero's. As you can see, Mr. Met was in attendance as a special guest, which was a great treat for all - especially Jon, who came attired in his favorite Mr. Met T-shirt! It was a beautiful star-filled night. Unfortunately the Mets lost, but not for a lack of cheering from our section!

Sunday morning Mike and I were back at Enjoie for the start of the final round. Jess' dad, Steve and sister, Abby joined us at the 18th hole as we watched the exciting finish of the tournament. Local favorite Joey Sindelar was close to winning it all, but alas, it was not to be as Raphael Romero came in the winner.
Watching these great Pro golfers go down to the wire really pointed out to me just how important total focus on ones game is in becoming a Pro. So, with all my hopes of becoming a Pro golfer completely dashed, Mike and I said adieu and took our time driving the lovely scenic trip to
home.
We had a totally relaxing and entertaining weekend with the added joy of having Jon and Jess to share it with us.
I can't help but smile when I look at this photo of Jon and Mike. Father and son and a Mets game - life really is a blessing!
