Saratoga Springs - 2009

We've been busy these past two weeks with work and volunteer commitments and thus have not been as diligent about updating the blog as we'd like. Since I know that many of you are waiting to hear all about how our annual trip to Saratoga went, and how well we did with our wagering, here is the bottom line: neither of us is giving up our day job.

Returns on our betting choices were not quite what we might have liked but we had a GREAT time! Actually, we both had some very lucrative Trifecta and Exacta payouts, but as any gambling aficionado knows, what you win is only 'yours' until the next race!

The horses were as magnificent as ever. We relaxed, read, walked about Broadway, attended a Fasig-Tipton horse auction (no, we sat on our hands throughout!) had excellent meals at The Wishing Well, tried a couple of new restaurants, and visited the Oldest Driving Range/Miniature Golf Course in the US. As always, Saratoga provided a beautiful venue for our stay and we had a really, really lovely vacation.

Mike has posted a link on his Facebook page with photos, so click below to see the ponies as they raced to the finish. You will note our horse at the back of the pack ...
