Celebrating the start of 2010 at Pine Springs

For the 20+ years that Katy and Peter have owned "Pine Springs", their vacation home in Vermont, they have invited close friends to pack a bag and join them for the weekend to celebrate New Year's Eve. There is much merriment, lots of reading, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, fireworks, champagne and, to end the year on a fine gastronomic note, a very special gourmet meal is served at 10:00pm.

In keeping with this tradition we loaded up the Jeep and journeyed from home on Thursday. It was a slow ride for the first 2 hours as the snowy weather in CT was rather harsh but things cleared once we got to Vermont. We enjoyed a lovely 3-day stay with Peter, Tricia, Sharon and Don. As always, it was great fun with good conversation, lots of delicious food and SNOW! The snow started to gently fall on Friday and continued through to Saturday, making for a winter-wonderland all around.

Many wishes to all for a healthy and peaceful 2010!
