The end of the Tri-Centennial year (finally) arrived and we said good-bye with a beautiful ceremony at the Congregational church, led by Rev. Mike Moran. Our contingent then lit sparklers and walked down Main Street to view the fireworks as we sang along Pat McGuire's bagpipe leading us in Auld Lang Syne.
The fireworks that the NM300 committee planned were spectacular and a fitting way to bid adieu to the year. A lot of work was put into the past 18 months by a great group of volunteers and it was well worth it to see the smiling faces waving their sparklers by the light of the aerial display.
From there Mike and I went to our friend Carl's restaurant for good cheer and a sumptuous dinner and then home to toast the arrival of 2008. Here's to a wonderful year blessed with hope, health and happiness for all!
