Finally today we had a REAL snowstorm! So far about 11 inches have fallen. Very light, fluffy, easy to shovel and just beautiful. This shot of the front bird feeder was taken at 3:30 and is a good representation.
Unfortunately, Mike is on his way back from MN in about 2 hours, and it's not optimum travel weather. However, the Hartford airport is operating without much delay, so I'm hopeful he'll make it home safely tonight.
Speaking of shoveling ... we have a new shovel that is labeled "new, ergonomic design." Now that I've used it today for 6 shoveling episodes I have this to say: ergonomic, schmurgonomic! It's still a pain in the back to shovel. I do love snow and it's a natural and beautiful part of living in New England, but the best selling snow shovel ever invented will be the one that shovels the walk all by itself!
