Katy saved my life this winter. Over the past 200 years Wildacres has developed the most dangerous topography for creating the most ice between the kitchen door and the road. After I had fallen four times getting the newspaper, taking out the garbage and testing the deck to see if it was icy we headed out to a little sport shop to get our ice fishing cleats (just like the ones in the picture). Now, I bound out the door to fetch the paper with impunity. We had glaciers until this morning, then lots of rain, 59 degrees. But the temperature will return to below freezing tonight and we'll be back to the skating rink.
But just in case it doesn't get cold enough here in CT I'm headed to Minneapolis tomorrow for the week. The high on Tuesday will be 6 degrees and the wind chill at night 20 below!
