Sites of Spring

More and more buds and blossoms appear every day. Our bird feeders have been assaulted by a giant raccoon who finally BENT the pole on one and knocked it to the ground. The squirrels just sit in it and stuff themselves with sunflower seeds. Mr. Turkey showed up the other day to take advantage of the easy feed. The mix of birds has changed. Gold finches, several varieties of wrens and every morning a red-eyed verio sits outside the window and sings and sings.
Tonight, while we were sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and a cigar watching the stars come out Mr. Possum decided he would join us - a little too close for some of us so Mike shouted him back into the forest.

This sounds all too familiar... our bird feeders feed several squirrels, a family of bunnies, a few deer and a woodchuck in addition to the birds. No turkeys though, and thankfully no broken bird feeders (yet). I get quite annoyed at the squirrels and woodchuck (I dont mind the bunnies, deer and birds) but Jon often reminds me that the squirrels have to eat too and he tells me that I should leave them alone. It's so much more fun to just bang on the window though!!!

Hope to see you guys soon!
