Although Mike's birthday is still 3 weeks away I wanted him to start enjoying his gift this weekend. This is a really nifty Callaway golf practice net that allows him (us) to practice in the back yard. It's just a great invention! Mike has used it to practice swings with both irons and driver, all to good end. I predict he'll be moving to the Pro circuit soon!
As you can see, Wildacres is greening up more and more each day. The Catalpa tree over the net is just starting to bloom and the woods have filled in very quickly.
Our neighbor Joe came by on Saturday morning to show us his newly arrived honey bees. We plan to have a hive also, so it's good to have an experienced guy next door. Joe also has a pig, a horse, a goat, lots of chickens and ducks and the neatest John Deere back-hoe - but that's a story for another blog!
As proof that the practice net is working, we played 18-holes yesterday ( in the 20-mph wind!) and Mike had his best score yet for this year. My score is another story for a future blog. We had a wonderful afternoon playing and ended with dinner at Carl's. It's good to be at Wildacres in the Spring!
